Posted in Featured Articles, Latest News, Newsletter, on June 23, 2019 Last month, we told you how we’re accelerating our mission by focusing more of our energies to equip leaders to reach the Jewish people from within the Church. One strategic way we are accomplishing this is by reclaiming a proper understanding of Israel and the Jewish people for the Church and broader Christian worldview. Many pastors and leaders simply do not know they misunderstand key Scriptures pertaining to Israel. And what is one of the most commonly misunderstood verses? “There is no longer Jew or Gentile…male or female…for you are all one in Messiah Yeshua.” GALATIANS 3:28 This verse has been used to discredit Messianic Jews who remain Jewish after accepting Yeshua as their Messiah, claiming they should lose their Jewish distinction after becoming a “Christian.” But Paul never said that! He also writes there is no longer “male or female.” I’m not sure about you, but when I accepted Yeshua as my Savior, I didn’t morph into a gender-less creature. Paul is teaching that we are equal before Yeshua, but with important distinction as Jew or Gentile, male or female. Working for worldwide reconciliation between leaders of both Christian and Messianic Jewish communities, Towards Jerusalem Council II (or TJCII) has developed Seven Affirmations, or principles, that affirm the distinct place of the Messianic Jewish movement in the Body of Yeshua. Learn more about these affirmations and how you can show your personal support of the Messianic community! As basic as this might seem, most church leaders have not heard teaching like this. Therefore, how can they really understand the Biblical role and place of the Jewish people in God’s plan for world redemption? How can they provoke Israel to envy for Yeshua? We are working to reclaim a right understanding of Israel for the Church. As God’s “firstborn among the nations,” we know this is dear to His heart. Thank you for helping us accelerate this strategic mission by giving to equip more leaders to lovingly reach the Jewish people around the world!
