ISRAEL PRAYER UPDATE, APRIL 24, 2017 The week preceding Israel’s “Independence Day” (next Tuesday May 2nd) is a somber and sobering one for many in Israel.  Today (24 April) is Yom haSho’ah—“Holocaust Remembrance Day” (Full title, “Holocaust Martyrs’ and Heroes’ Remembrance Day”). A week from today (May 1st) will be Yom haZi’kharon—“Remembrance Day”—commemorating Israelis slain in war or as victims of terror during the 69 years of Israel’s modern existence.

PRAYER UPDATE FROM ISRAEL –MARCH 6, 2017    200-year old Megilat-Esther (Scroll of Esther) on Parchment, passed down from Norma Sarvis’s ancestors in Belarus. PURIM Next Sunday, March 12, the 14th of Adar * (beginning sundown the evening before) is Purim—the day, as described in the Book of Esther, when Jews celebrate their remarkable deliverance from a plot in Persia in 483 B.C. to annihilate them as a people. Celebration and Feasting It is a joyous occasion.
