Rosh HaShana

Rosh Hashanah, or “Head of the Year” is considered the Jewish New Year and runs in conjunction with the biblical feast of Yom Teruah, or the “Feast of Trumpets.” It begins on the first day of Tishrei according to the Jewish calendar. Elul is the month proceeding Rosh Hashanah and is significant because it is month of self-examination and repentance in preparation the New Year.
